Travelling to matale

Image
Riveston mountain , bambarakiri ella, pitawala pathana, Sera Ella Located approximately 30 km from the Matale town, when travelling on Matale – Girandurukotte road, rather windy with quite a few hairpins turns but in good condition, offers great views all around with a mini worlds end, lot less travelled by main stream tourists. Climatic conditions here are very similar to Horton plains with the addition of having two great waterfalls “Sera Ella” and “Bambarakiri Ella”, both of which are a site for sore eyes, don’t forget to relax on the rock seats of “Sera Ella” relishing the cold misty spray of water on your face and Thelgamu Oya offers a great site for a dip in crystal clear but chilly water.   Travelling further upstream on this very scenic stream will no doubt will make you feel refreshed and rejuvenated. We recommend that you plan a trekking trip (02.5km) to the mist clad Riverston peak via pittawala pathana, as it offers some of the greatest views of the central hill...

Madolsiima - beautiful nature/ camping

Image
Madolsima - badulla The easiest way to get there is to walk from Badulla to Madolsima and then from there you have to walk another 22 KM. If you want to go right, you can go right from Madolsima to around 8 KM on the Akiriyawa road and then turn right at the Kuruwigolla junction. Now this time the Estate Authority has issued guidance boards. The whole place is just as carpeted. It's like a jeep. Cars, vans, buses are not even close. There is no door to a nearby house. There is no human race for kilometers.   From public transport, one can travel to Passara and then cross over Kuruvigolla via the overpass bus. * A bus runs from #HPLTravels to Colombo and Madolsima. It leaves Colombo at 10.15 pm. Then you can take a bus from Madolsim to Kuruwigolla. If not, you can take a bus to Colombo and then travel back to Passara. You can take the necessary items from Madolsima town. There is only a market in Kuruwigolla. The little globe is covered with fog most of t...
